President's Welcome!
Hello and thank you for your ongoing support as we complete a rewarding Term Two and commence Term three .......
At the May 2024 NSRDA Annual General Meeting I was voted in as the new President, taking over from Tim Lofts who deservedly stepped down from the role after seven years.
I have been a volunteer at NSRDA for five years, and on the Governance committee for the past four years. I have also chaired the Operations Committee and am actively involved with the Horse Committee.
I became Vice President two years ago, working closely with Tim and learning a lot about the role of President. My decision to take it on was not made lightly, as I knew it would be demanding role! However, Tim is staying on as Vice President, and we have a great committee.
Some huge achievements were made over the last 5 years – development of the carpark, the sensory trail, the indoor mounting ramp, a new tractor/hay shed, and recently the massive project was the arena roof cover. Thanks to Tim and all the many other people involved for all the tremendous hard work put into those projects.
However – we are not standing still this year!
Through the Term two school holidays we have completed the installation of lighting in the arena to brighten up even the gloomiest day (or night). We've completed the drainage system for the arena and tractor/hay shed overflows, and installed a hot water system for the horses washdown bay. Our huge thanks to all those that provided financial support to make these works possible. The Fraser Taylor Estate, The Allright Welfare Trust and The Rotary Club of East Coast Bays.
Another big project we are currently working on is is to build 4 new outdoor horse stalls to provide our growing herd with shelter during winter months.
Next year 2025 will be our 50th anniversary, and we are planning to celebrate this huge milestone. Watch out for more news later on.
