Fun at the Olympics
Our dedicated coach Judith, continuously finds innovative ways to engage the riders while helping them develop essential skills like coordination, strength, and communication. Judith's creativity and enthusiasm were on full display during the Olympics as she's introduced her own version of the RDA Olympics.
These Olympic-themed sessions are a series of fun and challenging activities designed to keep our riders interested while working on their physical and cognitive development.
Amongst the events were fencing, shotput, showjumping, baton relay, rhythmic gymnastics and a unique take on swimming where riders simulate different swimming strokes while riding their horses across a pretend "swimming pool."
Picture our riders gracefully performing freestyle, backstroke, or even butterfly strokes, all while guiding their horses across the arena! It's a fantastic way to exercise their bodies, improve communication with their horses, and enhance coordination—all while having a lot of fun.
Of course, even in the most creative settings, there are moments of laughter. There were a few "code brown" incidents in the pool, adding a bit of humour to the mix and reminding us that patience and a good sense of humour are essential in everything we do.
Judith's ability to think outside the box and tailor activities to suit the needs and abilities of the riders is truly inspiring. Her inventive approach ensures that every session is lively, engaging, and effective. Whether she's transforming the arena into a swimming pool or coming up with new challenges, Judith's impact on our riders' progress and enjoyment is remarkable.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Judith leading the sessions with her creativity and passion, making a real difference in the lives of our riders and keeping the Olympic spirit alive at NSRDA!
